The popularity of selling own wardrobe to clear up some space and recycle is increasing in the Middle East as residents of the Gulf countries are becoming more environmentally aware or simply want extra cash to buy new things. We came across a fantastic new website in Qatar: www.yourexwardrobe.com. Your Ex Wardrobe Qatar provides a platform for residents in Qatar (mainly in Doha) to sell their fashion, baby items, electronics, household items etc. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
We spoke to the founder of Your Ex Wardrobe Iri Al, who says the idea behind the website was to create a free platform for all women in Qatar to sell their wardrobe to the like-minded women without any hassle of shipment or online payments. All they need to do is arrange pick up or meet up in a mall (or even send a driver). Iri stressed that Your Ex Wardrobe is a very community-oriented website with Community category having extensive options: Artists, Sports, Classes and Community Events. It is FREE for everyone to post their ad!
Lots of preloved high-end designer items have been posted in the Facebook group before the launch of the website aimed at improving experience of second hand in Doha. Most of them are new.
The good news is - Your Ex Wardrobe is now in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Built by women for women, this platform allows all the ladies to sell their own preloved items online by posting a photo and writing a short description. No online payments are involved and no intermediaries. Everyone can be their own boss.
