MUBADALA WORLD TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP ABU DHABI 2011

We got lucky at Mubadala WTC in Abu Dhabi.  Saw all the tennis stars at an arm's length.  Just look who we saw!  The king of tennis Roger Federer himself.

Roger loved it when a 4-year-old girl asked him if he has a girlfriend.

SHAKIRA CONCERT ABU DHABI 2011 - HER HIPS DON'T LIE

While Amr Diab finished his show at 9 pm, Shakira made the crowd wait for more than one hour. The beautiful singer made up for it with her sing-along hits and risque (for the UAE) outfits with sexy dance moves.  At one moment the Latin-American star ripped her vest open to reveal nude-colored bra underneath.  Lots of people in the crowd stood in awe for a second before they realized it was not a mistake.

A lot of songs were recognizable hits but wish she didn't sing so many Spanish-language songs. She was singing for an English-speaking audience after all.

The fans went crazy with her encore finale of Waka Waka and Hips don't lie finished by lots of colorful confetti which made it feel like a beautiful Latin-American carnival.  Whoever left after she abruptly finished her program had to know better... she came back with the most popular hits and belly-dance show - Shakira, like many beautiful ladies, just had to be asked nicely :-).

MAROON 5 CONCERT DUBAI 2011 ROCKED

My favorite band Maroon 5 and their hottest lead singer Adam Levine graced us with their presence and  brilliant performance of hits at the World Trade Centre on April 21st 2011.  Loved to sing along "...and she wiii-ll be lo-ved, and she wii-ll be lo-o-o-o-oved".  I still can't get over how good looking Adam Levine is.

DUBAI FASHION WEEK 2011 - GULZEB

Gulzeb Asif is a designer from Lahore, Pakistan.  Gulzeb's desire to promote the trend of glitz and glamour has brought her to start her own line which focuses on flowing chiffons and delicate beading. 

Crème de la crème of Dubai’s Pakistani community attended Gulzeb show to support the debut of her collection at the Dubai Fashion Week 2011.

The stunning 37-piece collection comprises of dresses, salwar-kameezes, lehengas and kaftans with exquisite hand beading and crystal embellishments.  We have the highlights.

Asian model Kiran Malik opened the show with a short red dress. 

Beautifully embroidered red and green lehenga with a multi-hued dupatta, was presented by the Pakistani TV personality, Mahroon Baloch, who was accompanied by actor Adnan Sidiqqui.
