ART DUBAI 2012 VIP OPENING

Gallerie Janine Rubeiz presented a performance by Maria Kazoun "They were there".
Lace lizard by Joana Vasconcelo was sold on the 1st night.  I wonder where it lives now.

Cute couple from Switzerland are in Dubai for the design days - loving green Marni on Franziska Kessler and will try and check out your design furniture display next to Burj Khalifa in the next few days!

Lovely gallery from Paris - Galerie Piece Unique - and super friendly ladies Christine Lahoud and Marussa Gravagnuolo.  Definitely coming back for another look!
Belgian Artist Wim Delvoye known for his neo-conceptual works which are often shocking.  Here his "Dump Truck" - laser-cut stainless steel, presented by a Dubai-based gallery Isabelle van den Eynde.

Teresa Anchorena and Clara Cullen from Buenos Aires - your gallery rocks ladies, especially works by the 80 year-old Argentinean artist Julio Le Parc who came up with his precise-as-a-computer graphics before the computers were even invented.  I was walking around looking for a piece of art worth taking a picture next to.  It was a no-braner!

Farid Hamedi and friend in true dandy style.
Tatiana Faure, Managing Director of ProArt gallery in Dubai.
Polish-Bulgarian Canadian Iraq-born artist Martin Budny expressing what artists really are in the modern world through his "blue collar" outfit.  Good luck with your MFA in Berlin Martin!  Look forward to seeing more performance art, especially in the UAE.

Emirati Artist Abdul Qader Al Rais (displayed by Hunar gallery) has acquired his skill from art books and through experimentation developed his own unique style.  He draws inspiration from his heritage.  His signature style is expressed by the use of small floating squares, which appear even in the most realistic of his paintings.

Work by Alan Rath "Creature II" - I want one!

Associate Partner at GAJ Isabel Pintado - adore the turquoise color!
Moscow gallery owner Aidan Salakhova - thank you for letting us take your picture for free in the end!  We knew you'd understand we are not exactly a Hello magazine ;), but rather a social not-for-profit information portal displaying cultural diversity of our beautiful UAE.  Myself and my Ukrainian photographer were delighted to meet you!
A colorful cube entitled "Monument" made by Suhasini Kejriwal at Seven Art Limited.
