DESIGNER CRUSH OF THE WEEK: IRIS VAN HERPEN

Dutch designer Iris van Herpen graduated in Fashion design and interned at Alexander McQueen in London.  Since July 2011, she became a guest member of the prestigious Parisian Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, which is part of the Federation francaise de la couture.  

In her work she mixes craftsmanship and innovation in technique and materials.  She creates a modern view on Haute Couture that combines fine handwork techniques with futuristic digital technology.  Van Herpen forces fashion to the extreme contradiction between beauty and regeneration.  It is her unique way to reevaluate reality and to express and underline individuality.

Van Herpen’s decision to explore the rapid prototyping technology of 3D printing allowed her to be the first to introduce this technology in fashion, and to create astonishing designs with it.  Van Herpen became fascinated with the endless design potential of 3D printing.  In recent collections she further developed her prints by adding detailed handwork.

The sharing concept makes it easier to try as many dishes as possible.  They are all mouthwatering!  Our favorite picks include French beans with foie gras, quinoa salad and of course the place's signature Nicoise salad!  Healthy dinner with great ambiance - say what!

Концепция делить блюда, используемая в ресторане, помогает попробовать как можно больше блюд.  Все блюда - наивкуснейшие!  Наши любимые блюда включают:  французская фасоль с фуа гра, салат из киноа и конечно же основное блюдо этого места - салат нисуаз (салат из Ниццы).  Здоровый ужин с отличной атмосферой - такое разве бывает!

SS14 TREND: FLORAL

We love all things floral even more than the monochrome trend.  It brightens up the day.   Can't help but wonder why people always use black umbrellas.  Umbrellas have to be exactly floral to brighten up a rainy day!  It's not that big of an issue in Dubai though :).  

Мы обожаем все цветочное даже больше, чем монохромный тренд.  Это освежает день!  Интересно почему люди используют черные зонтики?   Зонтики должны быть точно цветочные чтобы освежить дождливый день!  В Дубай это правда не проблема :)

DUBAI PLACES: SHIMMERS

Surprisingly, there are not so many cafes/restaurants that are located right on the beach in Dubai.  Shimmers in Mina-A-Salaam Hotel is one of them.  Open for dinner under the stars in the evenings, it also offers shisha to those who like to chill with a view.  The 7 star iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel is located right next door!  We simply love it!

Удивительно, но в Дубай не так много кафе/ресторанов, расположенных непосредственно на пляже.  Шиммерз в Мина-а-Салам отеле - один из них.  Открыт для ужина под открытым небом при свете звезд и луны, в ресторане также есть шиша для тех, кто любит расслабляться с красивым видом.  7-звездный отель Бурж Аль Араб находится неподалеку.  Мы просто обожаем это место!

We paid a visit to Mochi showroom in Tecom in Dubai the other day and were pleasantly surprised with the uniqueness of all the pieces ranging from skirts, embroidered shirts, jackets to very cute clutches.  All things Mochi focus on embroidery and colours making it a unique blend of East and West.  In love with their flower clutches right now!  

Мы посетили шоурум местного Дубайского бренда Моочи (ударение на первый слог) и были приятно удивлены уникальными вещами, представленными в их коллекции.  Юбки,  вышитые топы, расписные пиджаки, очень симпатичные сумки.  Все вещи Моочи фокусируются на вышивке и ярких цветах, что делает их уникальной смесью востока и запада.  Мы влюблены в их цветочные сумки!

There are different ways to style a skirt.  In this example we have a Phillip Lim skirt.

1.  Pair it with neon pink Valentino rock stud kitten heels.
